Ethernet

The Ewon gateway needs a WAN communication medium to connect to the Internet and perform many actions such as:

  • establish its VPN connection;
  • sync with external time servers;
  • send data to external file servers;
  • ...

The WAN Ethernet connection interface allows you to use the Internet access available on the LAN side of the Ewon gateway's location.

Configuring the WAN Ethernet interface in DHCP gives the Ewon gateway access to Internet and to resources such as Talk2M service.

If necessary, the WAN Ethernet interface can be configured with a static IP address instead of DHCP.

Except for the Ewon Flexy 205, on the other Ewon Flexy models, you will need to use the Ewon Flexy extension card: FLX 3101 - Ethernet 10/100

More info on the extension card can be found on the Support website.

The WAN Ethernet connection interface is fully configurable via Basic scripting or Java ETK. For more details see link to Ewon Internet Connectivity → Controlling Communication.
