The eWON can act as an NTP (Network Time Protocol) client to update its date and time.

In general, eWONs configured to act as an NTP client will synchronize with the NTP server on a regular basis at a configurable interval.

However, synchronization can be forced programmatically using either the BASIC command NTPSync or the NTP_SYNC method of the ScheduledActionManager class in Java.

Keeping date and time accurate on the eWON is important if you use the eWON Data logging features or to avoid VPN connection issues due to certificate validity checks.
