A new firmware version for Ewon Flexy devices (FW 14.6s0) is available.
The major improvements of this version 14.6s0 are:
A new version of the North America 4G Flexy extension card (FLB3208) will be soon available. Upgrade your Flexy to the 14.6s0 to support it.
AT&T has announced the sunset of the 3G technology. Telit, our modem supplier, requested we set the modem into a specific mode to go through this change smoothly
(This mode is also set when you upgrade your NA modem using the modem firmware 20.00.507)
A new hardware version of the Ethernet Switch has been implement as of SN XXXXX. This firmware 14.6 is required to support it. In other words, you won’t be able to downgrade the firmware of these units without losing the Ethernet Switch ports.
This firmware also includes a security fix around the Ewon configuration through USB and SD card.
Sensitive parameters might be changed in certain conditions.
And finally, some little practical improvements:
Like the character / and é.
Restoring a backup that did not contain any Adm user in a fresh Ewon made that you got your own Flexy Super user (“Adm” user renamed into something else) and the default Adm user with its default password in your configuration.
Now the default Adm user is deleted at the backup restore if the backup does not contain it.
In the past, you could have situation where you got “VPN Configuration Error” in the Cosy/Flexy summary page and the VPN connection was just down. Now, you get the message “VPN offline” instead.
Corrections have been brought for the “Wireless network” menu in the Cosy/Flexy modem settings. Indeed, when you select a wireless technology for your Ewon modem, it connects to this technology only and never fallback to a lower one in case it is not available on site.
The CDN (Content Delivery Network) is a service that allows website to download web files very quickly whatever you are on the planet. Ewon Flexy uses this technology to speed up the Cosy/Flexy GUI loading. In some cases, for example when the computer used to display the GUI does not have any Internet connection, you may have to disable that mechanism. This is now possible by setting the COM parameter “UseCal” to 0.
A faulty error message was displayed when configuring ABLogix local IO Addresses for your Tags. That has been fixed.
You were only able to acknowledge all alarms at one time in the Flexy Alarm Summary view. Now only the selected ones are taken in account.
A global Mindsphere connector revamp has been done in the firmware version. We hope it will bring to Mindsphere user a better user experience when sending your machine data to Mindsphere.
You could, in some conditions, face a “Java IOserver not responding - died” error in your Flexy event logs saying that your Java IOServer does no longer run, even it was not the case. This was due to a too short internal timeout between the Ewon firmware and the JVM.
